“Animals - Sex - and Rock'n'Roll”, the reading concert by NOVI SAD together with the poet prince Fjodor C. Schwetz is great, but the Christmas special is even better. You have to see it!

NOVI SAD will serve Café Carina perfectly with innovative underground music - a mixture of schnapps (dirty riffs), American Ice-Tea (catchy refrains), Sex on the Beach (rhythm changes and interruptions - er "breaks" of course), absinthe (suggestive melodies) and bizarre lyrics. All performed by the band's charismatic singer Lilian.

For FALTER, NOVI SAD are "the grand masters of the intimate pop song" and for Concerto "the spearhead of the Austrian independent scene".

Come and multiply!

Animals, sex and rock'n'roll

... is the name of the new entertaining reading concert program by NOVI SAD together with the poet prince Christian Schwetz.

NOVI SAD have released twelve (!) music albums since 1990, which have been highly praised by international music critics. The recordings have been released on renowned labels such as Extraplatte, Schallter and Lindo and are available worldwide on all popular streaming platforms via Hoanzl and Rough Trade.

The current album "Wunderschönes Tier" is based exclusively on texts from the new book of the same name by Christian Schwetz (Edition Libica), who has a firm place in the Austrian underground literature scene. The songs are about "madmen", "flying ships", "fever knives", "possibilities" and of course "beautiful animals". We lie "the blue sky", "love nothing" (but really love it) and want "sex for sex". "It's possible" that it will be "almost something".

NOVI SAD are among the pioneers of the Viennese independent music scene. The young charismatic singer Lilian presents the new concert programme with the band for the first time (world premiere!). Chamber beat with rhythm changes and breaks, powerful, sensitive and melodic, as NOVI SAD has been known for many years. Further gigs abroad are already planned.

NOVI SAD are the pioneers of the Viennese independent scene (Wiener Zeitung), the grand masters of intimate pop song at its best (Walter Gröbchen), and at the same time the best of all bands not sufficiently appreciated so far (Concerto). Live they are a stunner anyway. Lilian Grof's soulful voice brings the warming cement to the band's complex music, which oscillates crossover between rock, minimal, chanson, indie folk and noise, between calm and dynamic.
The music magazine Austrovinyl tried to put it this way: "If you like Element of Crime, you will also like the Viennese band Novi Sad". We mean: NOVI SAD are leaping away from Element of Crime, are more lively, more unpredictable, but still full of poetry!

3x WORLD PREMIERE
NOVI SAD are changeable and always on the verge of something new. The "grand masters of the intimate pop song" (Falter) mix elements from indie folk, rock, chanson, jazz, noise and chinn-boom in an independent and style-conscious way. This sometimes tender and lyrical, sometimes expressive and experimental music has been immortalised in 10 critically acclaimed albums so far.
On 29.5 we celebrate a 3-FOLD PREMIERE with NOVI SAD at SUPERSENSE: first we present the new double vinyl "BEST OFF" (SCHALLTER/monkey), a selected show of works from the sovereign offside of these pioneers of independent Austrian rock music.
Secondly, NOVI SAD present the regular eleventh album "Wunderschönes Tier", which was created between the lockdowns and released in autumn 2021, and which, according to music critic Bruno Jaschke, is a "time-typical borderline walk between surrealism, a touch of madness, existential insecurity, dissatisfaction and admonishing inklings of lost feelings of life" in the orbit "of the more than respectable NOVI SAD catalogue of works".
And thirdly, it is the first NOVI SAD concert with the beguiling timbre of the new singer Lilian Grof. A world premiere!
